Charlie's Passion Project

Charlie's teacher let the kids pick ANYTHING they wanted to learn about and then complete a project about for it. Charlie wanted to learn how to build a treehouse.  He is super motivated to learn how so he can build one at the camper.  The teacher's husband came in to help Charlie since he built one for his kids.

He was super proud to show it off when we came to see him present it today.  It even has a zipline.  Proud of our boy!

Getting Cultured

Claire joined my kindergarten class on Friday so she could go see the Cinderella Ballet presented by the Children's Dance Theatre.  She liked the ballet but she may have liked riding the school bus a little more. When we got home we watched the movie and Claire played dress up.

On Saturday, Claire and I went to see Mary Poppins presented by the students at RCLS.

Eggs

The kids decorated and dyed some eggs today.

St. Patrick's Day

The kids went on a scavenger hunt, we ate green foods, went for a long bike ride/walk, stopped at Forager for games and snacks and then had Bangers and Mash for supper.

Birthday Girl

Can't believe Claire is five already.  That means she is headed for kindergarten in the fall.  It's bittersweet to see your kids grow up so fast!

I took the day off work and we did things that Claire loves...
Barnes and Noble for princess books
Scheels for new shoes
Toys R Us for a new bike
Lunch at McDonalds (I have never seen a more disgusting bathroom in all my life)
Bounce World
HyVee to pick out a cake and ice cream
Chuck E. Cheese's for games
Fazoli's for supper (Claire wanted spaghetti)
Home for cake and ice cream

WHEW!

1st grade concert

Charlie was all about getting spiffed up for his 1st grade music concert last week!

Frozen on Ice

We surprised the Claire Bear with tickets to Frozen on Ice for her birthday.  It was impressive!  We all really enjoyed it!  After that, we went out to eat with some friends to celebrate two birthdays.

100th Day of First Grade

Completing 100 days of school is a big milestone for the primary grades.  Charlie's teacher asked the kids to make a shirt to celebrate.  We had the perfect plan for our little fisherman- 100 fish and a worm!
