Memorial Weekend

We camped for two nights and Charlie stayed for three.  Claire chose to stay so we left and she "missed us" so we got to go ALL the way back to get her.  She was exhausted and emotional and just wanted to be home.

Four-wheelers, deck building, Bocce ball, laser tag, scrubbing the camper, mushroom hunting, grilling, s'mores. baby raccoons and LOTS of time spent in the kid fort which is now equipped with dirt stairs on both sides, a bench made from a fallen tree, a place to put wood and their very own kid fire.

The kids were either on the wheelers or in their fort the whole weekend.

Hopefully almost done...

We're anxiously looking forward to the stay-at-home order loosening up!

Camper time- the boys built their own fire by the treehouse

Coming home with a dirt mustache means she had a good time!

Mother's Day- Charlie had the idea of making "delicious desserts" for me

She did it!  She finally changed her earrings to cute owls that Uncle Travis gave her for her birthday.  Only a week of freaking out and crying about it.

Now we wait until May 18th...

The stay-at-home order was extended for 2 more weeks.  Not great news but at least it's getting nicer outside.  Now if we could just end the school year early that would be awesome!

Social distance fire

The guys built a roof for one of the campers at the land.  The kids got to ride Ashton's kid size four-wheeler.  They've been doing chores, counting their money down to the penny and begging to get one.

Claire giving me a ride on the big wheeler

Myre-Big Island State Park- Charlie and Nick caught a snake, we got rained on a couple times and we fished without worms because we couldn't find any.  No fish were caught and Charlie lost one of his lures.

Frisbee golf in Stewartville

More distance learning- let's just call this quits and let kids be kids for an extra month

Bamber Valley Parade- the kids and I went on a 2 hour parade through some of the neighborhoods where our students live.  There were lots of smiling faces, signs and people happy to see each other.  Charlie and Claire were pumped to see their friends.  They had the best seat for the parade!
