Fence Project

Nick, Dan and Charlie (for maybe a few minutes in between playing with his friends) put up the privacy fence for the hot tub area.  The hot tub is expected earlier than originally thought- maybe sometime in the next couple of weeks.  We are excited!

All done!  Doesn't Nick look thrilled for the next project? Planting trees!

Decorah Day Trip

We spent the best fall day in Decorah!

Dunning's Spring Park

Hike to Ice Cave

Ice cream stop!

Fish Hatchery

Phelps Park

Fancy!  Supper at Toppling Goliath

We stropped at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum even though it was closed.  We've been reading the first book in the series.  Charlie said he wanted to go in and see Pa's gun above the door.  Oh well, another time.

Orchard Day

We went to Claire's soccer game and stopped at the orchard on the way home.  Claire and I made some applesauce the next day and then forgot all about it watching the Vikings and playing outside. Soo...it ended up being a burned, sticky mess in the crockpot that took days to soak and scrub off.  Oops!

Soccer is Here!

The first time when we showed up an hour late to practice and missed the whole thing...

The second time when we got to the game (close to on time) without any practices.  The girls pulled out a win and Claire got the first goal of the season!

Root River Park

We went to a park we've never been to and it's only 15 minutes from home.  How did we not know about this place?!  It's awesome!

First Day of COVID School

The kids had their first day of what should be a very interesting year.  They're going to school on Mondays and Tuesdays and then learning from home the rest of the week.

I will be teaching half my class on Mondays and Tuesdays and the other half on Thursdays and Fridays.  All my students will be learning from home on Wednesdays.  This is the plan until Thanksgiving and then they will re-evaluate.  I can't wait until we have a vaccine for COVID so we can start to get back to normal.  This is hard on kids, teachers and families.

Waiting for the bus (Nick sees only his subjects and not the backdrop...)
