Saying Goodbye is Hard...

We said goodbye to Bella on the morning of November 23rd.  She was with us for so many life moments and now things will be so different without her.  15 years is a long time.  We know that she lived a good, long life but losing her is dang hard.

She was fiercely loyal to two people in this world.  She loved me but Nick was her person.  I was the one who wanted a puppy and had to plead with Nick to give in.  He was hesitant but didn't know then how much time he would spend with this puppy.  Even more so because he was with her all day long when he worked at home.  She was his little officemate and snuggle buddy for lots of years.

Our girl was a needy little handful but we loved her so so much.

The many names of Bella- Bellaboo, Dog, Doggydoo, Lala, Toots, McToots, Poops, Poopers, Tootsies, Tooterino, Tootsie Bootsies, Pups, Puppers, D O double G

I call this part "Nick's Dog"

D-Bat

We got a membership at D-Bat so the kids can practice their baseball and softball skills this winter.

Claire was scared to even go into the batting cage and had to be coaxed in.  Charlie was hitting 50mph pitches and got mad at Nick for choosing a 60mph pitch for a round just to see if he could hit it.

Parenting is so fun.

Mary Poppins

Claire and I spent some quality time together.  We had supper at Los Arcos, did a little shopping at Target (found some awesome wrapping paper) and then went to see the Mary Poppins musical at Mayo High School.  It was well done, loved it!

Chocoholic Frolic 5K

We signed up for the Chocoholic Frolic in August with some friends and they ended up being sick so we made the best of it.  We finished with our goal met- under an hour (52 minutes).  Then we went and had lunch at Raising Cane's, which made Charlie really happy.  Fun morning!

Halloween

Costume Bingo at school with dad

Carving pumpkins and Claire melting down about messing hers up- good times!

A Bamber family blowing me out of the water on our ongoing prank war

Trick-or-treating on one of the nicest nights I can remember!

We were cleaning out the garage the weekend before and despite having a dumpster for the roof and siding replacements we set a couple things on the curb for a white trash yard sale.  One of them was Travis' mounted deer.  On the way home from trick-or-treating one of my former kindergarteners grabbed it and brought it home.  I'm glad they found the humor in it.  They're hanging it in their garage and I heard they have big plans for it.  The best ending for it!
