FRONT ROW, baby! We showed up only five minutes before they started and it was like the universe meant for us to be right there. They sounded great and did some fun and creative things this time. One more year of the trumpet and Charlie says he's retiring.
Some of the Tornado boys went to see the Mayo Varsity baseball team. They won! I got to see a former kindergarten student play, which was fun and humbling (like, how I can I be old enough for this?!)
The Sertoma Club raises and donates money to the DHH program at Rochester Public Schools so every year Bamber Valley hosts a breakfast to thank them. Charlie and some classmates created a rap to share and answered some questions in front of the group, which included the superintendent, some school board members and the principals. I was proud! He said he went for the free breakfast (you know, since it isn't always free for him).
Claire and I went to a welcome event at Willow Creek. Hard to believe my little Claire Bear is already old enough to be at middle school.
We spent the day in Red Wing hiking Barn Bluff, having lunch, checking out some shops and playing a round of frisbee golf. Fun day!
The electricity went out this week.
First thing Claire says- "Was that a ghost?"
Second thing Claire says- "Is this how you lived in the olden days?"
Well, it wasn't a warm, sunny beach but we made the best of it. We found some fun things to do and made time to relax, too.
